Westlake Porter Public Library named a '5 Star Library'

Westlake Porter Public Library has been named a “5 Star Library” for the second time by Library Journal magazine in its annual rating of public libraries across the United States. The index compares public libraries across the nation with their budget-category peers using per capita circulation, library visits, program attendance, public internet computer use and circulation of electronic materials (such as e-books). This year’s rating was based upon 2015 statistics compiled by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

“We’re honored to share this with our community,” said Library Director Andrew Mangels. “Since the statistics it’s based on reflect their strong and loyal use of all that their library has to offer, we wouldn’t have this recognition without their support.”

WPPL was previously honored with 5 Stars, the highest number a library can achieve, in 2014.
