Westlake Scout earns Eagle rank

Westlake Troop 225 Eagle Scout Patrick Byrne was honored in a special ceremony on Nov. 12 at the Westlake Rec Center.

Boy Scout Patrick Byrne of Troop 225 out of St. Bernadette's in Westlake earned his Eagle Scout rank on Sept. 11. He graduated from St. Christopher grade school in 2014 and is currently a senior at St. Edward High School. Patrick was a member of Pack 390 during his time at St. Chris, earning the Arrow of Light.

During his 10 years in Scouts, he served in many leadership positions, earned 32 merit badges, and is currently the Junior Assistant Scoutmaster of his troop.

Patrick's Eagle Scout project was to build 30 portable table-top bookshelves and collect 14 books for each shelf to be given to low-income second-graders at Holy Name Elementary in Cleveland. Members of the troop, family and friends gathered to celebrate his accomplishment.
