Three outstanding musicians will provide gourmet notes to delight their audience and enhance the delicious food and the lovely setting at this year's Jazz Brunch sponsored by the Westlake-Westshore Arts Council on Sunday, April 29, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Westwood Country Club.

In addition to fine food, guests will be treated to the blended sounds of the bass by Ann Gilbert, piano by Joe Hunter and drums/percussion by Bill Marx. Gilbert is the principal bassist with Cleveland Pops, Akron Symphony and Blue Water Chamber Orchestra. Pianist Joe Hunter is a member of Red Light Roxy, Ernie Krivda’s Fat Tuesday Big Band and The Musical Theatre project. Drummer and percussionist Marx has his own jazz ensemble, plays in area big bands, local orchestras and Brazilian ensembles.

Undoubtedly, the April 29 brunch will draw fans who attended the WWAC’s 2017 Jazz Brunch and those that attended the “Bass Extravaganza” program by Ann Gilbert and “friends” at Porter Library in May 2016.

The idea of a Jazz Brunch was born when an overflow audience at the WWAC-sponsored 2016 “Bass Extravaganza” program responded to the performance with a spontaneous standing ovation. Proceeds from this musical gem go the WWAC Scholarship Fund which aids area high school students pursue another level of education.

Enjoy this distinctive musical event on April 29 at Westwood Country Club, 22625 Detroit Road, Rocky River (complementary valet parking provided). Tickets are $40 per person; cash bar, Chinese auction and a 50/50 raffle. For information call 440-250-5565 or go to w-wac.org.
