Bay Village porch talks highlight early settlers

Visit with a descendant of our pioneer ancestors at this summer’s first porch talk sponsored by the Bay Village Historical Society.

The event will take place on Sunday, June 10, 2 p.m., at the Osborn Learning Center in Cahoon Memorial Park.

Our first Northeast Ohio settlers paved the way for our life here. The story of each homesteader tells how they settled the region.

The season’s initial porch talk will be with Janet Toensing Bremke. She is the daughter of Vincent and Edna Hagedorn Toensing, and the great-great-granddaughter of Henry C. and Marie Hagedorn who homesteaded at 603 Bassett Road in Bay Village. Bremke has many stories to tell about her ancestors' adventures.

Admission to the porch talk is free of charge. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair.
