American Legion celebrates Flag Day

The Bay Village American Legion Post #385 honored 98-year-old World War II veteran George Maloof by including him in their June 14 flag retirement ceremony. Legionnaire George spent five years as a member of the 22nd Bomber Group, a part of the Army Air Corps seeing action the Pacific Theater.
 
The Legion officially retired 200 full-size flags and 1,000 cemetery flags on Flag Day. The Legion retires flags on both Flag Day and Veterans Day.
