Grandparents Day falls on the first Sunday after Labor Day each year. The holiday was signed into law in 1978 as a day for families to honor grandparents and help children become aware of their strength and guidance.

Looking for a fun way to celebrate with your family? Lake Erie Nature & Science Center will host its annual Grandparents Day family program on Sunday, Sept. 8, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Grandparents and grandchildren through age 7 will celebrate the beauty of autumn, meet the Center’s resident animals, explore the night sky in Schuele Planetarium and make a craft together to take home.

To register, visit www.lensc.org or call 440-871-2900. Tickets cost $10 per person (children 2 and under are free). Tickets for members of Lake Erie Nature & Science Center cost $5 per person.
