Wednesday, July 21 (2 p.m.) Wednesday Book Discussion – This month’s title is "The Secrets We Kept" by Lara Prescott. Discussion will be held via Zoom. Please register. An email must be provided to receive Zoom instructions.

Wednesday, July 21 (4-5 p.m.) Summer Teen Writers Workshop (Live) – Join fellow Teen writers (grades 7-12) this summer as we create an anthology of short stories. You pick the genre, characters, time period – everything. During each session we’ll reveal a new writing challenge to work into your story. Come with an idea and by the end, you’ll leave with a fantastic short story. Please register. Participants must provide an email address to receive Zoom information.

Wednesday, July 21 (7-8 p.m.) Adult Creative Writing Group – Join us for an hour of creative writing prompts. Please bring a notebook and a pen or pencil. Please register. This program is in person, weather permitting. Staff will make every effort to notify you if we cannot meet in person. If so, Zoom invites will be sent to all registered attendees.

Thursday, July 22 (9 a.m.-9 p.m.) Sea Glass Necklace Craft Take-Home Kit – Love the beach? Grab a take-home craft kit with materials and instructions to make a sea glass necklace. Materials for the necklace and instructions will be included in the kit (tools such as pliers and glue are not included). Please register.

Thursday, July 22 (11-11:30 a.m.) WPPL Annual Egg Drop (Live) – Join us on Facebook to find out how well the protective devices engineered by participants protect the eggs inside!

Thursday, July 22 (3:30-4:30 p.m.) Roblox Arcade (Live) – We have some private servers set up for Tweens in grades 4-6 to hang out with their friends and enjoy some of the most popular games via Zoom. Please register.

Friday, July 23 (9-9:30 a.m.) Yoga with Ms. Jen! – Calm your body, mind, and spirit in this yoga class taught by a certified toga instructor! Dress for the weather and bring your own mat/towel and water bottle as we will be in-person OUTSIDE weather permitting. Up to grade 1. If we cannot meet in-person, we will meet on Zoom. Staff will make every effort to notify you in a timely manner if that’s the case. Zoom invites will be sent to all registered attendees only if we will not be meeting in person. Please register every person that will be attending, including children and adults. Caregivers must stay with their child(ren) during the programs.

Friday, July 23 (10-10:30 a.m.) Adapted Storytime in the Garden – Join us for this storytime in the Reading Garden designed for children who may not be successful in a typical storytime experience. Content is geared toward ages 3 to 7 years. Children with varying learning styles and abilities learn together in a safe and supportive environment where respect and appreciation for differences is encouraged. This 30-minute storytime is followed by a time for socialization. This program is weather permitting. Staff will make every effort to notify you in a timely manner if we cannot meet in-person. If we cannot meet in-person, we will meet on Zoom. Zoom invites will be sent to all registered attendees only if we will not be meeting in person. Please register every person that will be attending, including children and adults. Caregivers must stay with their child(ren) during the programming. Siblings may attend but must register separately.

Monday, July 26 (9 a.m.-9 p.m.) Junior Ranger and New Naturalists Kit – Since 1985, America has celebrated July as the nation’s official Park and Recreation Month. You don’t have to go far to see a National Park! Cuyahoga Valley National Park, located between Cleveland and Akron, is right around the corner. Stop by the library to get a kit and become your own ranger or naturalist this summer! Grades K-4. Please register.  

Monday, July 26 (6:30-7:30 p.m.) Homemade Natural Cleaning Products (Live) – This program is intended to help individuals save money by using a small list of natural products and also keep their home clean without releasing toxins. Recipes will be sent via email after the program. Please register. Participants must provide an email address to receive Zoom instructions.

Wednesday, July 28 (7-7:30 p.m.) Family Storytime – Join us in person, weather permitting, for an interactive storytime featuring books, rhymes, songs and movement. For families with children up to 2-6, siblings welcome. Staff will make every effort to notify you in a timely manner if we cannot meet in-person. In that case, Zoom invites will be sent to all registered attendees. Registration begins one week before each session. Please register every person that will be attending including children and adults. Caregivers must stay with their child(ren) during programming.

Thursday, July 29 (9 a.m.-4 p.m.) Used Computer & Furniture Sale – WPPL will be selling out-of-service, used computers and furniture. The bulk of the computers are All-In-One models that have built-in monitors. Each will include a keyboard, mouse, and associated power cable. All computers are running Windows 8. Furniture includes loveseats and task chairs. All items are as-is. Sale will end when all items are sold.

Friday, July 30 (4-4:30 p.m.) Cup of Science (Live) – Join Miss Holly on Facebook or YouTube for a fun science video about seashells! For ages 4-6.

Friday, July 30 (4-4:45 p.m.) Fun Science Friday – Seashells are homes for small animals. We’ll learn what makes them special and unique. Discoveries will be made through hands-on experiments, active participation and a simple take-home craft. Ages 4-6, through kindergarten. Registration begins July 23.

Saturday, July 31 (10 a.m.-5 p.m.) Westlake-Bay Village Rotary Art Festival – Dozens of artists will be participating. Refreshments will be available and music is scheduled throughout the day. Parking will be at Westlake Elementary School and the event is on the grounds of the library. Free to the public.

Saturday, July 31 (11-11:30 a.m.) Adapted Storytime (Live) – Join us for this Zoom storytime designed for children who may not be successful in a typical storytime. Content is geared toward ages 3-7 years. Registration begins July 24. Participants must provide an email address to receive Zoom instructions.
