Wednesday, May 18 (2-3 p.m.) Wednesday Book Discussion – This month’s title is "The Golden Cage" by Camilla Lackberg. Please register.

Wednesday, May 18 (4-5 p.m.) Every-BODY Dance Now! – Dance is for everyone and every-body! Enjoy dancing to popular music at this inclusive program. Ages 8-13. This program will encourage gross motor movements. This program is led by a librarian, not a therapist and is not a substitute for music or other therapy.

Wednesday, May 18 (7-8 p.m.) Cookbook Discussion – Join us as we share recipes from "The Forest Feast Mediterranean" by Erin Gleeson. This book is available to download on Hoopla Digital. Pick a dish from the book to share with a group of 15. Please register, and email your selection or any questions to Victoria Vogel (victoria.vogel@westlakelibrary.org) by May 13. We’ll meet to share our dishes and discuss any changes we would have made.

Wednesday, May 18 (7-7:30 p.m.) and Saturday, May 21 (10:30-11 a.m.) Family Storytime – Join us for rhymes, songs and play! For families with children ages 2-6. Siblings are welcome. Please register.

Thursday, May 19 (10-11:30 a.m.) Computer Basics & Introduction to Northstar – Learn how to turn on a computer, use a mouse, go online, and access Northstar Digital Literacy for self-paced online learning. Please register.

Friday, May 20 and Saturday, May 28 (11-11:45 a.m.) Adapted Storytime – Join us for this storytime designed for children who may not be successful in a typical storytime. Content is geared toward ages 3-7 years. Registration begins one week before each session.

Sunday, May 22 (2-3 p.m.) Bicycle Friendly Driver's Training – Drivers and soon-to-be drivers will learn about common crash scenarios, navigating bicycle infrastructure and cyclist behaviors in order to share the road safely. For teens and adults. Please register.

Monday, May 23 (1-7 p.m.) American Red Cross Bloodmobile

Tuesday, May 24 (10-11:30 a.m.) Microsoft Excel & Introduction to Northstar – Learn the basics of Microsoft Excel, and how to access Northstar Digital Literacy for self-paced online learning. Please register.

Wednesday, May 25 (9 a.m.-9 p.m.) Discovery Box Sign Up – Register for WPPL’s personalized subscription box service. Here’s how it works: 1. Register beginning May 18. Make sure to include an email address. 2. We’ll email you a survey to fill out. 3. Based on your answers, we’ll prepare a personalized Discovery Box that is catered to your specific taste. Each box will include a book, a mystery snack and a few other surprises. Pick Up your box June 1-4.

Wednesday, May 25 (7-8 p.m.) Adult Creative Writing Group – Join us in person for an hour of creative writing prompts to inspire you to start and keep writing. Creativity is more than putting pen to paper. It’s about breaking away and trying something new! Please register.

Thursday, May 26 (3:30-4:30 p.m.) Roblox Arcade (Virtual) – Love Roblox? We have some private servers set up for Tweens in grades 4-6 to hang out with their friends and enjoy some of the most popular games via Zoom. Please register.

Friday, May 27 (4-4:45 p.m.) Fun Science Friday: Fish of the Ocean – Join Mrs. K as we explore the science of sharks and other fish in the ocean. Discoveries will be made through hands-on experiments, active participation and a simple take-home project. Ages 4-6, up to Kindergarten.

Saturday, May 28 (2:15-3:30 p.m.) Kids in the Kitchen – Learn basic cooking and measurement with simple recipes for kids with disabilities and their typical peers. Tasting or sampling is not required. If you have an allergy or dietary concerns, please contact Youth Services at 440-250-5471. Ages 8-12.

Sunday, May 29 and Monday, May 30 – Library Closed in observance of Memorial Day
