Enjoy 'Sunday in the Park' on Thursday!

Christopher and Karen Ellicott, "Sunday in the Park," will perform Thursday, Sept. 15.

The Westlake-Westshore Arts Council invites one and all to enjoy "Sunday in the Park" on Thursday, Sept. 15, at 7 p.m., at Westlake Porter Library. Christopher Ellicott and Karen Ellicott blend their voices and their instruments, guitar and clarinet, giving life to the ageless music of dance and folk songs.

The Ellicotts, who have performed for over 20 years, are "Sunday in the Park." The name was chosen by these graduates of Baldwin Wallace University Conservatory when they married. The name choice was prompted by their first public concerts, usually held on Sunday, and sponsored by Cleveland Metroparks.

On Sept. 15, Sunday in the Park will present “Harvest Home” a celebration of the harvest season in the tradition of the pipers, fiddlers, pilgrims, and pioneers that will come alive with the telling of some stories behind the songs. Endeared for generations and woven into the fiber of the country by its earliest settlers, the songs, and the stories have been handed down and continue to entertain and enlighten. These talented performers encourage their audience to sing along on familiar tunes.

Christopher teaches guitar at Baldwin Wallace and The Beck Center for the Arts in Lakewood. Karen served as a song leader and music director in churches throughout Greater Cleveland for several years. The WWAC is pleased to resume its sponsorship of quality programing following the two-year COVID shut down.
