Master portrait artist Paul Beel visits BAYarts from Florence, Italy
"Self Portrait" by Cleveland native Paul Beel will be among the portraits on display when the artist visits BAYarts July 6-7.
Cleveland native Paul Beel will visit BAYarts July 6 and 7, coming all the way from Florence, Italy, for a unique weekend portrait workshop featuring drawing or painting, pizza, wine and good conversation.
Working from the live model, students will learn to draw a portrait with an aim to create a work which not only depicts a likeness, but informs the viewer about two lives, that of the sitter and the artist. Beel won the travel award from London's National Portrait Gallery in 2010, among numerous other awards.
