Bay Village pet factoids

Today there are over 1,425 licensed dogs living in Bay Village and eight practicing veterinarians that make Bay their home.

In 2011, the Friends of the Bay Village Kennel was formed and secured funding to build a new kennel thanks to a Bay Village family.

In May 2012, Bay Village City Council passed legislation prohibiting breed discrimination.

Bay Village’s existing kennel will soon be demolished to allow for the construction of a salt truck wash station. Since the termination of the position of animal control officer, Bay Village’s kennel has continued to be used as a temporary home for Bay Village’s stray dogs and cats.

With donor funding to construct a new kennel facility, the Friends of the Bay Village Kennel will provide volunteer assistance to maintain the kennel. City Council has begun consideration of construction of a new kennel.

If you are concerned with the safety of Bay Village’s pets, please join with the Friends of the Bay Village Kennel. Visit friendsofbayvillagekennel.com for more information.
