Westlake City Council, Ward 6 candidate: Mark Getsay

Mark Getsay

Since 2009, I have had the privilege of serving on Westlake City Council – Ward 6. As a resident of Westlake, I have seen it grow into the great community it is today. My father was a minister, and he taught my brother and me how important it is to give back to your community. A lesson I am teaching my two sons.

I came to Westlake to work for a local accounting firm as a CPA, and in 2005, I went to a Westlake company as the Chief Financial Officer. Through the years, I have served on numerous boards, including the West Shore Chamber of Commerce, North Coast Health Ministry and the City’s Civil Service Commission.

My financial and management background, along with my extensive community service, has proven invaluable while serving on Council.

Westlake will face new challenges as we continue to mature as a community. We must continue to provide premier services to our seniors, diverse recreational options to our children, and strong opportunities to our businesses, while continuing to provide the first-in-class services to which our residents are accustom.

Westlake has a history of strong financial management, solid long-term planning and sound decision making. I intend to continue that tradition of providing the services the residents expect in a reasonable, efficient, cost effective and honest manner.

I respectfully requested your continued support on Nov. 5, and look forward to continuing to serve the residents of Ward 6.
