Bay City Council, Ward 1: David Tadych

Dave Tadych, Bay Village City Council Ward 1 candidate

I’m Dave Tadych, running for my sixth term as Bay's Ward 1 Councilman.

I started my political journey in 1999 after retiring from Mr. Coffee’s corporate headquarters in Bedford Heights as Vice President, Information Systems. In 1999, then-Mayor Tom Jelepis appointed me to the Community Services Advisory Board. Adele Wheeler, Director of Community Services, guided the board. In 2001, Adele urged me to consider a run for Ward 1’s seat. I was successful.

Today, as I finish my fifth term, I’m amazed how each elected term is a new journey. It never gets old – invariably there’s something exciting and new on the two-year horizon. These fresh challenges and goals are not always met with the approval of all, but Council’s group of seven and the administration can move forward knowing the City is thankful for our service.

As a 42-year resident, having grown up in Avon Lake, I am glad to live and participate with residents and organizations that work to make Bay great.

One of my most satisfying challenges was being Chairman of Bay’s 2010 successful Bicentennial Celebration. The year was filled with events, parades and loads of fun – and residents participated! When you add that to my continuing Ward 1 efforts and my goal to represent everyone fairly, I can look ahead and work to continue to make Bay a proud city on a beautiful lake.

I’m Dave Tadych and I’m running for Ward 1, Council. Please remember me when you vote.

– Dave Tadych
