Tri-C names Westlake's Shirley Stineman as executive director of workforce communication

Cuyahoga Community College has announced that Shirley Stineman of Westlake has been named executive director of workforce communication and community engagement.

Stineman brings more than 15 years of marketing and community affairs experience to Tri-C, where she will promote programs within the College’s Workforce, Community and Economic Development Division (WCED).

She will work to increase the visibility of WCED and its Centers of Excellence, which provide job training for the industries that power Northeast Ohio’s economy while giving residents the skills needed to maximize their earning potential.

Prior to joining Tri-C, Stineman served two years as director of marketing and community affairs with the Northeast Ohio Media Group. She held similar positions at The Plain Dealer between 2001 and 2013.

Stineman also has worked in human resource management with The Plain Dealer, TRW Inc., Valtronic USA and Warner & Swasey Co.

Her work within the community has led to leadership positions on boards and committees with numerous Northeast Ohio organizations, including Greater Cleveland Food Bank, Cleveland Leadership Center and others.

She holds a master’s degree in psychology from Cleveland State University and a bachelor’s degree in business administration/communications from Baldwin Wallace University.

Stineman began her new position at Tri-C on March 28.
