The building of the Cahoon Log Cabin

  • The Cahoon Log Cabin in the valley behind Rose Hill was built by scouts as part of the 1976 U.S. Bicentennial campaign.

  • Scoutmaster John Brandt organized the 250 scouts and two dozen volunteers that built the log cabin using hand tools and 1810-era methods.

  • A second-grade class tours the log cabin in the Cahoon Creek valley.
