Tri-C’s Norhan Abdelmaged named to All-Ohio academic team
Norhan Abdelmaged of Westlake was one of 11 students from Cuyahoga Community College named to the All-Ohio Community College Academic Team, which comprises top students at the state’s two-year schools.
The All-Ohio Academic Team recognizes student excellence in academics, leadership and community service. Sixty-nine students from across the state were selected for this year’s team on the basis of their outstanding records.
Tri-C had more students named All-Ohio than any other school.
Abdelmaged, who received third-team honors, expects to earn her associate degree from Tri-C this fall. After graduation, she plans to transfer to Cleveland State University to study international business.
She earned academic honors at Westshore Campus in Westlake while balancing studies with on-campus jobs. Abdelmaged worked in the campus president’s office as part of Tri-C’s Summer Internship Program and also served as an assistant in the Student Affairs office.
In addition, she volunteered with campus community outreach to raise awareness of Tri-C and Westshore Campus in the community.
As a third-team honoree, Abdelmaged will receive a $250 scholarship. A recognition program for team members will take place in Columbus on April 25 during Community College Month.
