Astronomy Club relaunches at Lake Erie Nature & Science Center

Bill Reed

Lake Erie Nature & Science Center will relaunch Astronomy Club on Wednesday, July 21 at 6:30 p.m.

In 2018, Planetarium Specialist and NASA Solar System Ambassador Bill Reed created Astronomy Club for people of all levels of interest to learn about astronomy in a fun and social environment. Reed led monthly meetings where he shared astronomy news, gadget and software reviews, pop culture recommendations and fun facts. Special events included planetarium movie nights, telescope viewing parties and off-site field trips organized by the club. Due to the pandemic, in-person Astronomy Club meetings were paused and astronomy updates were offered in a virtual format throughout 2020.

The July 21 meeting will mark the first in-person Astronomy Club meeting in over a year, and the Center is welcoming those interested to enjoy their first meeting at no cost. Registration is not required and visitors can check-in for Astronomy Club at the main entrance of Lake Erie Nature & Science Center (28728 Wolf Road, Bay Village, OH 44140).

An annual household membership to Astronomy Club costs $60 and includes access to monthly meetings, newsletters, Telescope Night programs, telescope rentals, and more. Join Astronomy Club and learn more about the Center’s planetarium offerings at www.lensc.org/planetarium.
