Wednesday, Oct. 6 (4-5 p.m.) Fall Teen Writers Workshop (Live) – A twice-a-month meet up for writers in grades 7-12. In this workshop, we’ll be prepping for National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) in November. Hit the ground running by getting organized and brainstorming within a supportive group of young writers. We’ll also share tips and tricks to maintaining a productive writing environment. Please register to receive Zoom instructions by email.

Thursday, Oct. 7 (1-7 p.m.) American Red Cross Bloodmobile

Saturday, Oct. 9 (10:30 a.m.-noon) Medicare Open Enrollment Information (Live) – Attend a presentation on Zoom by Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program (OSHIIP) volunteer counselor Jim Langan to learn the “ins and outs” of Medicare, including Medicare coverage options, Medicare benefits Part A and Part B, supplemental insurance policies, prescription drug coverage, and Medicare Advantage plans. Saturday, Oct. 9 (11-11:30 a.m.) Pokemon Fun (Live) – Join Miss Rachel in person for  Pokemon fun! This will be a time to view and trade cards, do a craft (if desired) and play a Pokemon Bingo game. Feel free to bring your cards! Ages 6-11. Please register.

Monday, Oct. 11 (All Day) Sewing Soft Circuits Pick-Up Halloween Craft (On Demand) – Sew LEDs into a spooky felt craft with an on-demand webinar to watch whenever you’d like! Instructions for materials pick-up and webinar access will be emailed a few days before the program. Participants must provide an email address to receive instructions. You will need your own scissors. Suitable for tweens, teens and adults. Please register.

Monday, Oct. 11 (11-11:30 a.m.) Gross Motor Monday – Start your week with some movement activities! We will have fun balancing, jumping, tossing, marching and more! For children ages 3-7 with special needs. This program is led by a librarian, not a therapist, physician or exercise professional. Please register.

Monday, Oct. 11 (3:30-5:30 p.m.) Teen Lounge – Need a place to hang out after school? Come to WPPL’s Teen Lounge for video games, board games, crafts, snacks and more! Grades 7-12.

Monday, Oct. 11 (7-8:30 p.m.) Ohio is So Gay! Trivia Night (Live) – Author, journalist and professor Ken Schneck returns to host a fun-filled evening of LGBTQ+ trivia! Ohio’s LGBTQ+ history exhibits the classic components of a Hollywood blockbuster: heroes, villains, epic crowd scenes, meet cutes, and a soundtrack to end all soundtracks. This interactive trivia extravaganza will test your knowledge of the past 50 years of Ohio’s LGBTQ+ activism. Please register. Zoom instructions will be sent by email.

Tuesday, Oct. 12 (9 a.m.-9 p.m.) Jewelry Junction: Fall Bracelet Kit Pick-Up – Make a beautiful fall bracelet using fall colored glass beads and gold findings. Supplies vary a little. Pick-up at the Drive-Up Window. Please register.

Tuesday, Oct. 12 (9 a.m.-9 p.m.) Moonlight Lantern Festival – Reserve the supplies your family needs to join in the second annual Moonlight Lantern Festival! Completed lanterns must be returned to Youth Services by Oct. 18 to be included in the festival! Lanterns displayed from dusk to dawn on Oct. 19. Rain date Oct. 26. Please register.

Tuesday, Oct. 12 (1-3 p.m.) Career Transition: Reinventing Yourself and Your Career (Live) – Have you mapped out your strategy for a new career? Are you prepared with current and valuable job skills? Do you understand what strengths you bring to a job? Let’s examine these things so you can reach your desired career destination successfully. Please register to receive Zoom instructions by email. 

Tuesday, Oct. 12 (2-3:30 p.m.) Tuesday Book Discussion – Join the WPPL Tuesday Book Club IN PERSON for a discussion of "The Book of Two Ways" by Jodi Picoult. Please register.

Tuesday, Oct. 12 (7-8:30 p.m.) Tuesday Evening Book Discussion (Live) – Join the WPPL Tuesday Evening Book Club on Zoom for a discussion of "The Book of Two Ways" by Jodi Picoult. Please register to receive a Zoom invitation and instructions by email.

Tuesday Oct. 12 (4-4:45 p.m.) The Science of 'Magic Tree House: The Knight At Dawn' – There is science inside the "Magic Tree House" books. In "The Knight At Dawn" we’ll explore some creepy critters that might live in a medieval castle. Grades 1-2. Discoveries will be made through hands-on experiments, active participation and a simple take home project. Please register.

Thursday, Oct. 14 (3:30-4:30 p.m.) Roblox Arcade (Live) – Join us in the Roblox Arcade! We have some private servers set up for Tweens in grades 4-6 to hang out with their friends and enjoy some of the most popular games via Zoom. Registration begins Oct. 7.

Friday, Oct. 15 (9 a.m.-9 p.m.) Paper Pinecone Ornament Craft Take-Home Kit – Use old book pages and a foam egg we provide to create a seasonal pinecone ornament. Printed instructions are found on thehybridchick.com and leximichelleblog.com. A hot glue gun is recommended to complete this craft. Registration begins Oct. 8.

Saturday, Oct. 16 (2-3 p.m.) Dungeons & Dragons 101 (Live) – Interested in Dungeons & Dragons but don’t know where to start? Join us as we dive into the world of D&D together. For those in grades 4-6. Registration begins Oct. 9.

Monday, Oct. 18 (9 a.m.-9 p.m.) Halloween Fun! Craft Bag Pick-Up – Stop by the library for a bag of fun and spooky Halloween themed crafts! Kits will be available until Oct. 26, unless other arrangements are made. Registration begins Oct. 11.

Monday, Oct. 18 (9 a.m.-6 p.m.) Tween Craft Kit Pick-Up – Stop by Youth Services starting at 9 a.m. for a tween craft kit! Grades 4-6. Please register.
