Wednesday, Dec. 7 (6-8:30 p.m.) HeartSaver CPR/AED – Get certified for adult, child, and infant CPR and AED. Class led by certified instructors from UH St. John Medical Center. Visit uhems.org/event-search to register. Email account required. Participants under the age of 14 must have a parent or legal guardian in class. Wednesday, Dec. 7 (6:30-8:30 p.m.) Horror Film Club – Join us for another creepy classic from the Vault! New members are welcome, but children under 13 must be with an adult. Please register.
Thursdays, Dec. 8 and 22 (3:30-4:30 p.m.) Roblox Arcade – We have some private servers set up for Tweens in grades 4-6 to hang out with their friends and enjoy some of the most popular games via Zoom. Join us in person on online. Registration begins one week before each session.
Thursday, Dec. 8 (6:30-7:15 p.m.) Adapted Storytime – Join us for this storytime designed for children who may not be successful in a typical storytime. Content is geared toward ages 3-7. Please register.
Friday, Dec. 9 (4-4:45 p.m.) Fun Science Friday: Holiday Colors – Explore the colors of the season in a very scientific way with hands-on experiments, active participation and a simple take-home project. Ages 4-6, through Kindergarten. Please register.
Saturday, Dec. 10 (10 a.m.-noon) Italian Cookie Decorating – Learn how to make icing and decorate a dozen premade cutout cookies using icing and sprinkles. Please register.
Saturday, Dec. 10 (4- p.m.) Virtual Author Talk: Fredrik Backman – Join us for an online chat with bestselling author Fredrik Backman as we discuss his outstanding body of work, including his breathtaking new novel "The Winners." Streamed live. Please register.
Saturday, Dec. 10 (3–4 p.m.) Illustration Creation – Learn about a featured illustrator and then create a project inspired by their art. Grades 1-3. Please register.
Sunday, Dec. 11 (2–3 p.m.) Art Smarts – Explore some works of a well-known artist and then use what you’ve seen to create an art piece of your own! Grades 4-6. Please register.
Monday, Dec. 12 (9 a.m.-9 p.m.) Holiday Fun Craft Kit Pick-Up – Celebrate the holidays with some fun crafts! Kits will be available until closing on Monday, Dec. 19, unless other arrangements are made. Please register.
Monday, Dec. 12 (9 a.m.-9 p.m.) Tween Craft Pick-Up – A take home craft kit for grades 4-6. Please register.
Monday, Dec. 12 (10-10:30 a.m.) Music Monday – Develop pre-reading skills with music, movement and rhythm through stories, songs and rhymes. Ages 2-6.
Monday, Dec. 12 (3:30–5:30 p.m.) Teen Lounge – Need a place to hang after school? Come to WPPL’s Teen Lounge on Monday afternoons! Video games, board games, snacks and more!
Monday, Dec. 12 (7-8:30 p.m.) 3D Printing Orientation – In order to use the library's 3D printer, you'll need to take this orientation first. Learn library policies about using it, how to download a 3D-printable object, and how to prepare it for a great print. Please register.
Tuesday, Dec. 13 (9:30–9:55 a.m.) Stories and Signs – Enjoy an interactive storytime while learning a few words in sign language! Ages 0-3, siblings welcome.
Tuesday, Dec. 13 (10-11:30 a.m.) Android Smartphone & Tablet User Group – Do you own an Android smartphone or tablet? Bring it with your questions (or tips!) to this guided user group.

The discussion will be held in person and on Zoom simultaneously. Please register. If you register for the Zoom option you will receive a Zoom invitation and instructions by email.
Wednesday, Dec. 14 (noon-1 p.m.) Virtual Author Talk: Nicole Eustace – Join us online for a riveting conversation with historian Nicole Eustace as she discusses her book "Covered With Night: A Story of Murder and Indigenous Justice in Early America." Streamed live. Please register.
Thursday, Dec. 15 (10–11:30 a.m.) Internet and Email Basics with Introduction to Northstar – Learn the basics of the internet, using email, and how to access Northstar Digital Literacy for self-paced online learning. Registration begins Dec. 8.
Thursday, Dec. 15 (4-4:30 p.m.) Cookie Decorating – Engage your child's senses and encourage messy play while delighting in the fun and wonder of the season. No baking or decorating experience necessary. This inclusive program is for ages 3-7. If you have an allergy or special diet concerns, please contact the Youth Services Department at 440-250-5471 for a complete list of ingredients. Typical peers or siblings welcome. Registration begins Dec. 8.
Friday, Dec. 16 (4-5 p.m.) Brick Builders – Do you love Legos? Bring your ideas and imagination to Brick Builders! Bricks provided. No registration required, but room capacity is limited. First come, first served. Ages 5-12.
Sunday, Dec. 18 (2-3 p.m.) Come Play With Me – An open playtime for children ages 2-5 with a caring adult. Siblings welcome! No registration required but room capacity is limited. First come, first served.
Monday, Dec. 19 (7-8:30 p.m.) Investors Interest Group – An advisor from Szarka Financial will be discussing an issue relevant to today's economic climate. Please register.
Monday, Dec. 19 (7-8:30 p.m.) Maker Monday: Squishy Claus Circuits (On Demand) – Create holiday play-dough squishy circuits with an on-demand webinar to watch whenever you’d like! Instructions for materials pick-up and webinar access will be sent a few days before the program. Registration begins Dec. 12.
Tuesday, Dec. 20 (7–8 p.m.) Young Adult Book Club: "The 57 Bus" by Dashka Slater – Those unable to attend in person can join us simultaneously via Zoom. Please register. Books available in Youth Services.
Wednesday, Dec. 21 (1-2 p.m.) College Application Essay Success (Virtual) – Talya, from College Calm with Talya, will join us via Zoom to go over the process of writing a great personal essay to go with your college application. Registration begins Dec. 14.
Wednesday, Dec. 21 (2-3 p.m.) Wednesday Afternoon Book Discussion – This month’s title is "A Wild Winter Swan" by Gregory Maguire. A limited number of books are available for checkout at the Circulation Desk. Please register.

Wednesday, Dec. 28 (7-8 p.m.) Adult Creative Writing Group: Holiday Edition – Join us for an hour of creative writing prompts to inspire you to start and keep writing. Creativity is more than putting pen to paper. It’s about breaking away and trying something new! Please register.
Thursday, Dec. 29 (2-4 p.m.) Jewelry Junction: You and Me Necklace Making – Have fun making a necklace with your tween(s) and/or teen(s). This class is for 1 adult with tween(s) and/or teen(s). Registration begins Dec. 15.
Saturday, Dec. 31 (11:15 a.m.-noon) Countdown to Noon! – Join us for a special New Year’s Eve family storytime! We’ll make a simple craft and do our own early countdown to 12 (noon). Ages 3-5. Registration begins Dec. 23.
