Bay High student awarded military scholarship
Jennifer Fuehrer (Bay High School Class of 2023) is the winner of this year's Veterans of Foreign Wars/American Legion Scholarship. Sponsored by VFW Post 9693 and Legion Post 385, this scholarship is awarded each year to a deserving Bay High graduating senior who will be affiliated with the U.S. military while furthering their education.
Military affiliation can be satisfied by joining an ROTC program, enlisting in the Reserves or National Guard, or attending one of the U.S. Service Academies. Eligible post-high school education includes attendance at a four-year college, two-year community or technical college, trade or vocational school, certificate program, or apprenticeship.
The winner is selected on the basis of academic performance, community service, extracurricular activities, character, leadership potential and expressed interest in military service.
Ms. Fuehrer will be in the Ohio Air National Guard while attending college at The Ohio State University-Mansfield.
