Act now to participate in Aug. 8 election

Every election is a chance to solidify democracy. This year’s Aug. 8 statewide election in Ohio is particularly important as a proposed constitutional amendment is on the ballot.

To be sure that you have a voice in this significant election, you must be registered to vote by 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 10.  It’s almost too late to do this step by mail, so we recommend that you go to the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections, 2925 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, to sign up.

While you are there, ask for and complete a vote-by-mail application. The single-issue ballot will be mailed to you beginning July 11, 2023.

Meanwhile you can collect information about the proposed amendment to determine your position. Once your ballot is in hand, you can vote at home at a convenient time and date, and then go on with your summer activities.

Be sure to return your marked ballot to the Board of Elections (using a first class/Forever stamp) postmarked no later than Aug. 7, 2023.

We thank you in advance for your participation in this vital election.
