First annual City of Westlake Community Run

The Westlake Recreation Department is excited to announce the upcoming First Annual City of Westlake Community Run, a family-friendly event taking place in conjunction with the Annual Safety & Wellness Day. Winding through the city of Westlake, this event offers participants the opportunity to run or walk while enjoying the vibrant community spirit. The race will commence and conclude at the Recreation Center Campus, providing participants with a picturesque route through the city.

Scheduled to take place on Saturday, Sept. 16, at 8:30 a.m, the event features a timed 5K Run and Speed Walking Division, as well as an untimed 1-Mile Walk.

Participants who register by Sept. 4 will receive a complimentary race shirt, and the first 150 registered individuals will be guaranteed event goody bags.

Following the race, participants can enjoy refreshments, snacks, and an awards ceremony. The event will also include entertainment such as inflatables and a DJ, ensuring a fun-filled experience for all attendees.

To further enhance the community's well-being, the City of Westlake will be hosting the Safety & Wellness Fair, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Westlake Recreation Center. Co-hosted by University Hospitals and the City of Westlake, the fair will provide valuable information and resources related to safety and wellness.
