Porter Library invites residents to Community Welcome Fair

Westlake Porter Public Library invites local residents to get to know their neighbors at a Community Welcome Fair on Saturday, Sept. 16, from 1-4 p.m. The Fair is a way for neighbors of all backgrounds to come together and build strong connections with the community.

A variety of local cultural groups and businesses will be on hand to share their stories, traditions and food, including Horizon ATA and Karate, JK Kang Taekwondo, The Almutairi Family – Learn About Saudi Arabia, Westlake Chinese School, the West Cleveland Muslim Association, Council on Islamic Relations, The Hope Center for Refugees and Immigrants, the Nut Shop and the International Community Council/Worldwide Intercultural Network.

The Fair will kick off with author and storyteller Lindsay Bonilla, who will share folktales from various countries and cultures. The program begins at 1 p.m. and is suitable for all ages.

The Community Welcome Fair is the culmination of Welcoming Week, which will include special programs, such as Multilingual Storytime on Sept. 11 and a Kids in the Kitchen program featuring world recipes on Sept. 14, as well as special blog entries throughout the week.
