Bay school board swears in new members, elects officers
During the Jan. 5 Bay Village Board of Education's Organizational Meeting, Debbie Callihan and James Goodman were sworn in as new Board members by Bay Village Schools Treasurer Meghan Rohde.
Next on the Board agenda was the election of new officers for the 2024 calendar year. Dr. Andrey Stojic was elected President and Amy Huntley as Vice President.
“For the Board, 2024 brings change. We say goodbye and extend our thanks to Beth Lally and Paul Vincent for their hard work and dedication to our students and district. At the same time, we are excited to welcome Deb Callihan and James Goodman to the School Board. Both Deb and James are committed to putting our students first and to our shared value of academic excellence,” said newly elected President Stojic.
“The year will be important for our district. We have made a great start to implementing the district’s 5-year strategic plan – “Learn. Launch. Lead” – and we look forward to continuing to phase in our vision to create the best educational experience for our students,” said Stojic. “We will review our facilities audit and engage the community to determine the future goals for facilities, maintenance and improvement. As always, we will make sure our district maintains its commitment to meeting the needs of all students, and to give each child the best opportunity for academic and personal success.”
President Stojic continued, “As I have said in the past, we are fortunate as a school district to have outstanding educators and staff, engaged parents and a generous community that recognizes the importance of a strong school system for our children. The Board’s goal is simple – to make the Bay Village City School District the best for our students. If we stay focused to our mission and values, we won’t only be the best school district for our students, we will be the best school district in the State of Ohio. “
The Board of Education also approved the 2024 Board Meeting and Committee Meeting schedules at this meeting. These documents can be found on the Bay Village Schools website (www.bayk12.org) via the Board of Education Meeting Calendar page.
