From shelter to stardom

"Toby" Howard is this year's winner of Westlake Historical Society's cutest pet contest.

The Westlake Historical Society is happy to announce our Cutest Pet for 2013: Toby, a 65-pound, eight-year-old, mixed breed, part Airedale and part something else. Toby was a shelter puppy adopted from Cleveland's APL by the Howard family of Westlake. This year's competition was very stiff, and even included a gecko. Toby seemed to exhibit a special quality that won over our panel of judges.

Toby enjoys stuffed animal toys, drinking from the bath tub, taking long walks and playing in the snow. He also performs several tricks and likes spending time with his owners' cats, Max and Louie. This sweetheart celebrates a February birthday and is truly loved by all who meet him.

Toby recently stopped by the Clague House Museum to have a meet and greet with some of our younger members. Toby and his family look forward to walking in the Memorial Day parade with other members of the Westlake Historical Society.
