Bay travel baseball team earns 2nd tournament championship

The 8U Bay Rockets Blue travel baseball team went 4-0, capturing the title in the Nations Memorial Day Weekend Tournament held in Mentor. It marks their second tournament title so far this season. 

Leading up to the championship game, the Rockets beat the Ohio Glaciers, 6-0, the Ohio Bombers, 7-4, and Team All-American, PA, 36-2. For the overall tournament the Rockets' batters slugged 52 hits and their pitchers struck out 43.

In the championship game against the Ohio Bombers, the Rockets jumped out to an early 7-0 lead in the first two innings on 7 hits and solid pitching. They added a run in each of the 4th and 5th innings and their pitchers recorded 12 total strikeouts on their way to defeating the Bombers 9-0 and earning the tournament championship.
